Potato Intolerance

Anyone’s child have a potato intolerance. My daughter was completely addicted to them once we started the diet. I realized she hadn’t eaten anything that way since we took away wheat (she could eat a whole bag of goldfish if we let her!) She had been off them for 3 days and her rash started to clear up and she was eating baout a quarter of what she was eating. I decided to check and make sure that it was potatoes that affected her so I gave her some fries tonight. She was like a wild animal. Giggling and laughing all over the place. She was totally oblivious to us calling her-Suddenly, she crashed. She laid on the floor and started to fall asleep! IS this common? I realize we have to give up potatoes, but can it really affect her that much…This diet is already so hard and she refuses all corn and rice things unless I mask them in tomato sauce. Another quick enzyme question…I gave her acidophilus yesterday morning and she drooled really bad all day. I saw some white flakes in her drool and she was real irritable. Could this be a side effect? What can you feed them if they can’t have potatoes?

Help Out Of Town Without My Gluten Free Cookbook

I still new to the gluten free group. My son has been doing the diet for about a month and has seen small improvement. To the Problem at hand. I forgot to pack my Special Diet for Special kids cookbook. I’m out of state for Thanksgiving. My son doesn’t eat most of what will be at the Thanksgiving dinner, but he will eat rolls.I’m looking for the Soft Bread Recipe that is in Karen S. book (diet Intervention of autism and PDD - I think that is the title) or I think it is call Marti’s Bread in Special Diets. It is the one that uses Dari Free Milk Sub.Please HELP my DS likes this one that is why I’m looking for it.

Does anyone know of a company that makes corn based lasagne noodles? My son doesn’t tolerate rice products so we use corn pasta. I would love to be able to make him lasagne, but haven’t been able to find acorn based lasagne noodle.

Marinade And Dressing

Hendrickson’s dressing, marinade and seasoning is gluten free. It’s a great marinade for chicken, etc. I order it online. $24 for 6 bottles, but you can order smaller amounts.

B12 Supplement - Treatment For Autism

I’ve been giving my son a combination B12 and folic acid supplement for 8 days now. It’s not methyl b12 as I didn’t know the difference when I purchased it. I’d like to go ahead and use this up though. It contains 1,000 mcg of b12 and 400 mcg of folic acid per 1 ml. 1 ml is the dosage recommended on the bottle and our Pediatric Developmental specialist at Cincy Children’s agreed, although she’s the first to say that she’s not terribly familiar with supplements as treatment for autism. I’m wondering how much B12 is typical for our purposes. Myson is 2&1/2 years old & 28 pounds.
